2nd March 2017
This year, the theme for World book day was BEDTIME STORIES!!!!
We were allowed to go to school in our pyjamas and onesies, or as our favourite book character.
The day was full of lots of book related activities such as reading a new book called THE TIN FOREST.
We then had to rewrite the story from the point of view of the bird. This was tricky because the original story did not tell us how and why the bird landed in THE TIN FOREST, so we had to make the beginning of the story ourselves.

| In the afternoon, we learnt about Robin Hood and his medieval life. We learnt a lot about the weapons that would've been used in those time, and how they were used. Our favourite weapon was the kidney dagger because it was a really horrible one to use - when someone is stabbed with it, it takes out the kidneys and other body parts which kills them. It's a bit brutal! Despite the weather, we had we had a brilliant day and all really enjoyed ourselves. |
3rd March 2017
On Friday, we went on a trip to Sherwood Forest with year 3. It was very exciting, but it was very cold and rainy! When we got off the bus, we were met by a lady who worked there called Becky. We were fascinated by what she was wearing because she had: kidney dagger, a REAL sword, a tall wooden staff, different types of arrows and a long bow.
In the morning, we looked at plants, and I fell into some ivy - it was really itchy! Our task was to get to know trees. We saw oak trees, birch trees and even the Major Oak itself! We had to make our very own plant in groups. We used things that were broken off trees and plants, and piles of grass to make these plants.
